A comfortable coach departs from outside Clarion Hotel The Edge at 08:30 for the scenic 90-minute drive to this evocative and fairy tale venue in the Arctic wilderness. Set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley, the Tromsø Ice Domes are built every year as the Polar Night approaches.
The snow and ice art reflect the unique bond between man and nature in a unique and breath-taking manner. The ice bars, our ice cinema, the ice hotel suites, and ice restaurant have themes changing every year conveyed through beautiful coloured lighting and wonderful ice sculptures. In our guided tours, we always guarantee to teach our clients a lot about the Arctic history. Tromsø Ice Domes are much more than just an ice art museum or a normal ice hotel.
On arrival at Tromsø Ice Domes, you will be greeted by your guide who will direct you to either your action adventure or the Ice Domes visit. The ice hotel is surrounded by tame reindeer that will eat right out of your hand! At the ice hotel, our guides will share their knowledge about the construction process of an ice hotel and guide about the impact the snow has for the survival of our Arctic animals. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complimentary.
During the guided tour, we show a 6-minute video of the building process in our ice cinema. You may purchase drinks on the spot in our ice restaurant. Our meal service at the restaurant must be preordered. Please note that as we maintain a temperature of -5°C inside the ice domes, we recommend our guests to wear warm winter clothing.
The action-adventure will occur either before or after the tour of the ice hotel, depending on weather and availability. You will spend 1.5 - 2 hours on the snowmobile/dog sled during the tour, with a light meal provided.

Option 1 - Dog Sledding
Age Restrictions: 10+
Level: Must be able-bodied and in good form to join the dog sledding.
Option 2- Snowmobile Safari
Age Restrictions: Passengers must be 14+, Drivers must be 18+ and hold a valid Driver's License.
Level: Must be able-bodied and in good form to join the Snowmobile Safari.
