Best Kept Secret: Ice Fishing

Address: Radisson Blu Hotel, 9008 Tromsø

Not far away from Tromsø City in a hidden valley and fjord, you will find an Arctic paradise that remains largely untouched. This is where we offer you Tromsø’s Best Kept Secret with its wild, breath-taking and tranquil scenery.

Join us and experience the unique landscape and warm hospitality of the North of Norway.

On our Arctic Ice Fishing Adventure, you will take part in one of the most loved winter activities of the north. The tour starts with a scenic drive along fjords and mountains before entering a hidden valley surrounded by even more wild and rugged mountains.

At the frozen lake, we equip ourselves with an ice drill, bait and ice fishing gear. We drill holes in the ice, get our fishing rods ready and wait patiently for the trout or char to make their presence felt. We chill out on cosy reindeer hides while slowly wiggling the rods to attract the big catch. At the same time, it’s impossible not to get mesmerised and intrigued by the surrounding breath-taking nature and everchanging light conditions of the Arctic.

Dress warmly so you have the best chance of fully enjoying your time on the ice. We serve hot drinks and snacks while fishing. Though we cannot guarantee the big catch on every tour, this surely will be a fascinating and once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This activity is a great choice for those who want to explore and experience wild tranquil nature, culture and Arctic elements at their best in one of the most beautiful places in the North of Norway.

*Please note that this tour is subject to safe ice conditions.

Alternative tour: If the ice is not safe or there is no ice at all, we will offer our Best Kept Secret: Fjord & Alps in the footsteps of the Coastal Sami.
